The Intensive Treatment Program of the Shaunty Healing Center is designed for adults with mental illness who need treatment and clinical intervention in areas related to the management of significant mental illnesses. This includes Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorders I & II, Schizoaffective Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Personality Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and co-occurring issues of addiction and mental illness.
During intensive treatment, the treatment team works to help repair damage from psychologically wounding experiences earlier in life. We concentrate on working through what is causing dysfunction. This includes:

By targeting the issues that are the root cause of dysfunction, we are able to formulate new skills in order for the resident to move forward in their social, emotional, and physical development.
Oftentimes, those with severe mental illnesses develop maladaptive behavioral issues that interfere with their ability to progress. These behaviors reoccur over time throughout all aspects of treatment. During Intensive Treatment, we utilize our entire team and the community itself to create structure and consistency to lessen these behaviors and hopefully replace them with appropriate behaviors.
