Dr. Stuart Weir is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of complex psychiatric cases.
Prior to assuming his current role at Shaunty Healing Center, Dr. Weir served as a Senior Psychologist at The Menninger Clinic and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. His areas of expertise encompass the psychodynamic treatment of personality disorders, multi-method and comprehensive psychological assessment, and clinical supervision and consultation. His clinical interests include Mentalization-Based and Transference-Focused Psychotherapy. Additionally, Dr. Weir regularly teaches and speaks on the topic of personality disorders and their treatment. Apart from his tenure at Menninger, Dr. Weir has gained valuable experience working at a state prison, university counseling center, public school, and private practice.
Dr. Weir's postdoctoral fellowship was completed within Menninger's Professionals in Crisis program, where he also underwent subspecialty training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and group consultation. During his predoctoral internship, he worked on Menninger's Compass Program for Young Adults and Adolescent Treatment Program. Furthermore, his internship involved a research rotation with a focus on personality disorders, attachment, and Mentalization-Based Treatment. Dr. Weir's education culminated at Biola University's Rosemead School of Psychology.
